Running away from the bustle and
hustle of city life and delving myself in stunning natural scenery, it was my
escape to Ba Be Lake in last summer. This place should be in your list if
you’re going on a tour to Vietnam. Three
days to explore Ba Be Lake and its village are our real experiences. We enjoyed
embarking on a boat trip in the sleepy emerald lakes to admire the magnificent
landscape, stop at mysterious caves with legendary… The most intimate memory is
to cook some meals with local family and live in traditional stilt houses in
this Tay village.
We set off in early morning from
Hanoi. Following the National road 3 and passing Thai Nguyen province, our
group reached Ba Be after 5 hours driving. Ba Be is known as the largest
natural lake of northeastern Vietnam. The name “Ba Be” originated from its
formation from three lakes: Pe Lam, Pe Lu, Pe Leng running through the Nang
River. It was easy for us to find a home stay in Pac Ngoi village. The host
families here mostly are Tay and Nung ethnic groups. We enjoy eating our
fascinating lunch with local delicacies such as corn wine, braise pork with
tram fruit, boiled chicken and Bo Khai vegetable that really satisfied our
empty stomach after a long trip. Afternoon, we walked around the village and
mingled with local people here.
The next day, from the Buoc Lom Wharf,
we hired a boat and rode into the lake. Rowing in the gentle and deep green
water, viewing the spectacular mountains surroundings seemed more wonderful
than my imagination before printing foot here. The air is fresh and clean
indeed cools you down and all tiredness causing by boiling summer seems to
disappear.
We visited Dau Dang waterfall, Fairy
Pond on top of mountain and some beautiful caves include Puong, Na Phong, Pac
Chan,.. For a while, we stopped at Cam village to explore the life of Tay
people. When the sky turned into glade pink at sunset, we backed to our home
stay for dinner. Enjoy our meal with baked fish, and then took part in the
lively performances by locals, mixing up with the melody of folk songs, we
found our peace in soul and captured our memorable moments.
Say goodbye the local family, we
promised to comeback here in one day. Ba Be is one of my favorite destinations
of the North East of Vietnam tour
